Dr Robert Fassina and Dr Justin Munt performed six Mako Robotic Assisted Partial Knee Replacements at Burnside Hospital on Wednesday 9th of December 2015. They had the absolute privilege of working with Dr Frederick Buechel, Jr for the day, who took time out of his busy international schedule to attend these surgeries.
Dr Buechel has been using the Stryker Mako Robot since 2009, and to date has one of the largest single surgeon series of partial knee replacements implanted using robotic assisted technology (over 950 cases). Dr Buechel also runs The Robotic Joint Centres in New York, San Francisco and Taiwan.
The experience and advice he offered with regards to planning, set up and implementation of surgery added to the already vigorous training that both Drs Fassina and Munt have completed to enable them to be certified to use this advanced technology.
Drs Fassina and Munt would like to thank Dr Buechel for his time and teaching.
Drs Fassina and Munt would also like to thank the efforts of the Operative Nursing staff at Burnside Hospital for always providing industry leading and outstanding care during these cases.
